Impact that’s felt — and measured

KV33 Swell exists to help youth ages 5–17 build the foundations that matter most: confidence, coordination, emotional steadiness, and belonging. We deliver beginner-friendly, mobile programs that blend surf-inspired movement (surfskating + balance board training) with social-emotional skill-building, creative expression, and restorative practices—so kids don’t just “participate,” they grow.

  • We believe real impact should be:

    • accessible (kids can start as true beginners)

    • consistent (skills build through repetition and care)

    • measurable (in age-appropriate, privacy-forward ways)

  • We use short, kid-friendly surveys to capture changes in:

    • confidence and self-esteem

    • emotional regulation skills (calming, coping, bounce-back)

    • sense of belonging and support

    • enjoyment of movement and willingness to participate

Surveys are age-banded (so the questions make sense for 5–7, 8–11, 12–14, and 15–17 ) and adults/families also take surveys for adult/family classes we publicly host.

While every child is unique, our programs are designed to support growth across these outcomes:

    1) Physical confidence + coordination

    • improved balance, stability, and body control

    • stronger body awareness and safer movement habits

    • increased willingness to try new physical skills

    2) Emotional regulation + resilience

    • calmer recovery after frustration or setbacks

    • increased ability to pause, breathe, and reset

    • stronger self-confidence and “I can do hard things” mindset

    3) Focus foundations + follow-through

    • improved attention stamina during skill practice

    • better response to coaching cues and multi-step directions

    • increased persistence and flexible problem-solving

    4) Connection + belonging

    • positive peer interactions and community-building

    • increased sense of safety, support, and inclusion

    • stronger participation and engagement over time

  • We collect feedback from schools, cities, and parents/caregivers on:

    • student engagement and participation

    • observed confidence and behavior shifts

    • program fit, quality, and community impact

    • Skill progression markers (movement + balance)

    • We track observable progress through simple, non-competitive skill markers, such as:

    • balance control and stability progressions

    • surf-inspired movement fundamentals (stance, turning, control)

    • safe movement habits and consistency over time

    • Attendance + retention

    • Engagement is an outcome. We track:

    • attendance consistency

    • series completion

    • return participation (when applicable)

    • Facilitator observation notes

As a founder-led program, we document structured observations focused on:

    • effort and persistence

    • peer interaction and group dynamics

    • confidence and regulation patterns during challenge and recovery

    • What we publish (privacy-forward reporting)

    • We share program results in a way that protects youth and partners.

    • We report group-level trends, not individual identities.

    • We do not share faces, names, or identifying details without explicit permission.

    • We can provide partners with summary reports after a pilot or series cycle completes.

    • Our default is privacy-first. Any content captured is used thoughtfully and ethically, with clear consent practices.

What impact looks like in the real world

Impact at KV33 Swell shows up in small moments that add up:

  • A child who was nervous becomes confident enough to try again.

  • A student who struggles with frustration learns how to reset and re-enter.

  • A group shifts from isolated to connected—encouraging each other and showing up consistently.

  • Beginners become capable movers with visible progress and pride.

  • We design for these “micro-wins” because they are often the building blocks of long-term well-being.

  • Where we are now

KV33 Swell is in an early growth phase—building partnerships and piloting programs across schools, cities, and community organizations. As each series cycle completes, we will publish:

  • anonymized survey summaries

  • partner feedback highlights

  • participation and completion insights

  • program learnings and improvements

  • This page will be updated regularly as data accumulates.
